Technical Manager

We are looking for an experienced and passionate Technical Manager who will work as an ambassador for NSF and be responsible for providing dedicated technical resource to Costa.

You will have the opportunity to undertake the following responsibilities:

• Working collaboratively with colleagues and suppliers you will be responsible for managing a range of products and suppliers ensuring that these meet Costa’s quality, safety and technical standards.
• Conducting approval and surveillance inspections of sites, managing specifications and quality attribute standards
• Supporting the product development processes to ensure new products and improvements are launched on time from approved suppliers meeting the Costa standards and policies.

We are looking for an individual with the following experience, abilities, and qualifications:

• Degree (or equivalent) in Food Science or Food Technology or related subject
• Extensive experience in the food processing sector (retail or manufacturing)
• Experience of developing, reviewing, authorising menu and/or retail pack label copy and specifications
• An engaging and consultative approach to client relationships
• Experience of supplier audit/inspections
• Lead Auditor Qualification
• Level 3 HACCP
• Experience of launching new products (concept to store) from a technical point of view
• Category specific experience in sweet bakery would be advantageous
• A good knowledge of food labelling legislation
