Job Details


  • Provide insight, facilitation and project leadership to enable the UK HR Director to deliver the people plan in alignment with the Greencore Group People strategy

  • Direct, coach and mentor the site HR teams to enable the delivery of the People plan in line with local site business requirements and the wider Greencore Group People strategy.

  • Provide People leadership and direction to the HR teams to ensure they are engaged, focussed and delivering

  • Lead and support the effective use of Performance Management in the delivery of personal and business results and encourage colleagues to develop themselves to their full potential

  • Ensure that the business has a clear labour plan and coordinate the talent review process for the Division to enable recognition and development of the capability needed to meet present and future demands across both salaried and weekly paid populations

  • Work with site leadership teams to review and build effective, functioning high performing teams and structures within the defined cost base

  • Aid sites with trade unions/colleague representative group discussions and substantive terms and conditions to promote a positive colleague relationship climate

Employing c. 11,800 colleagues across 16 manufacturing sites we supply all the UK’s food retailers with everything from Sandwiches, soups and sushi to cooking sauces, pickles and ready meals.



We are looking to appoint a Head of HR at our Northampton business unit. Northampton is one of Greencore's largest sites, comprising 2,700 colleagues across 5 manufacturing facilities, and serving just one very prestigious customer on an exclusive basis. 


What we’re looking for

  • Proven experience in HR at a senior leadership level working with manufacturing teams in a unionised environment

  • Up to date knowledge of employment legislation

  • Experience of leading and developing a multi‐site and multi‐functional team

  • Successful track record of driving and implementing change

  • Breadth and depth of commercial awareness to provide checks to site plan
