Raw Materials Co-ordinator

Our client, a fast-growing Prepared Food Manufacturer based in Nottinghamshire, is looking for a Raw Materials Co-ordinator to join their Supply Chain team. Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, the successful candidate will effectively manage the raw material and packaging stock levels to meet the daily production plan requirements, as well as negotiating, monitoring and evaluating supplier contracts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Identifying buying requirements and raising purchase orders
• Troubleshooting daily supply issues whilst maintaining professional internal and external communication
• Development and maintenance of supplier relationships (including price negotiation)
• Working in close liaison with the Technical and NPD teams regarding the sourcing of new ingredients/suppliers as needed
• Liaising with Warehouse colleagues on the receipt, storage and transfer of raw materials
• Implementing and monitoring supplier performance
• Resolving supplier invoice queries/disputes by communicating and problem solving collaboratively with colleagues
• Actively participating in continuous improvement initiatives (collation and analysis of supplier quotes and terms of business with suppliers)
• Providing support and cover for the Buyer and Supply Chain Co-ordinators as required
• Tracking and expediting orders to ensure timely delivery (booking incoming deliveries and collating proof of deliveries)

Experience, Skills & Knowledge:

• Previous procurement experience is essential, preferably within the food manufacturing sector
• Excellent communication skills, by email, over the phone and face to face
• Strong IT skills across the Microsoft Office suite and a good understanding of databases
• Strong numeracy skills
• Attentive to detail and able to focus in a busy environment
• Proactive problem solver, who collaborates confidently with others
• Ability to work well within a team whilst taking personal responsibility for Supply Chain
• Highly organised, with the ability to plan and prioritise your workload to achieve maximum efficiency

The salary for this role is £23,000 - £25,000 and working hours are Monday to Friday within office hours. You will need to have a driving licence for this position due to the location of the manufacturing site.
