Technical Account Manager (Food Manufacturing)

The Business:

An award-winning food manufacturing business who supply the UK's major retailers with high quality, high value food products.

Job Purpose:

To advise, manage and maintain all technical information to meet present and expected customer and legal requirements.

Responsibilities:
  • Main point of day to day contact for all customers, focussing mainly on major retail customers.
  • Ensure all technical communication to the customer is joined up and aligned with the business key functions (Commercial, NPD/Process, Operations, Technical and Supply Chain)
  • Communicate to business all customer technical requirements and requests, challenging where relevant and resolve issues at pace.
  • Lead customer initiatives, ensuring projects are communicated effectively and within the agreed timescales.
  • Work in collaboration and with the site to deliver a consistent reduction in complaints and communicate trends
  • Ensure complaint responses are completed in a timely manner with effective root cause analysis
  • Manage all technical customer visits to site and within the supply base. Ensure all customer meetings are attended and a summary with next steps/actions communicated and managed within the business.
  • Ensure all customer technical KPI's and scorecards are kept up to date and communicated proactively to the customer on time.
  • Ownership and support during new product development from innovation to product launch including: -
    • Attending product trials
    • Preparation and management of Customer specific specifications
    • Preparation and maintenance of QAS
    • Shelf Life approval
    • Nutritional review
    • Cooking validation review
    • Artwork Approval
    • Develop and maintain factory paperwork for product launches
  • Completion of internal audits


Requirements:
  • Ideally a food manufacturing background
  • Understanding of technical requirements with food manufacturing
  • Well presented
  • Ambitious and dynamic
  • Excellent communication skills: verbal & written
  • Able to work autonomously or as part of a team
  • Excellent attention to detail, people skills and organisation skills
  • Ability to operate successfully in a fast-changing environment.
  • Problem solving: A focused, pragmatic approach to solving problems. Able to use root cause analysis to identify, assess and select the most appropriate course of action to resolve issues
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • PC Literate


Salary & Package:

Circa £28k + benefits.
