• Presenting new products and upgrades to key stakeholders and the customer  in a professional manner demonstrating in confidence in your packaging knowledge and expertise.


• Taking a creative approach to designing structural packaging concepts for product and transit.


• Briefing new, revised and repeat material requirements to the NPD buyers and packaging innovation team to ensure the correct resources are available for product development and factory trials


• Managing costings throughout project delivery and implementation


• Building relationships with key packaging suppliers utilised across the Sourcing network in order to establish and generate essential data requirements to support legislation and specification building.


• Creating standardisation across packaging formats that creates uniformity and drives commercial efficiency.


• Supporting on factory trials, reviewing the operational output to refining design as necessary and ensure that packaging is fit for purpose whilst considering efficiently implications


• Supporting the sustainability agenda for key retailers including keeping up to date with industry government legislation and targets


• Benchmarking products to gain market awareness and to facilitate blue sky innovation and working up designs through Photoshop and 3D visuals.

Our packaging team are looking for a packaging technologist based from our site in Sheffield and are an essential part of bringing creative and innovative packaging ideas together for our customers to market.

This role will require travel across all 5 of our sites that sit within our Prepared Meals division. 

• Keen eye for detail , along with the ability to communicate effectively with suppliers and internal team


• A degree in Design or a related subject would be advantageous


• Ability to manage  a number of tasks at once and consistently deliver high-quality work to strict timescales


• Passion for packaging design as well as the motivation to learn and improve


• Experience across a number of packaging materials and processes.
