The Role

The main aim of the role is to deliver optimal benefits  through the in Member Interest Groups (MIGS) whilst maximising the opportunities for the company

Duties

  • To manage Interest Groups and sustain the quality of their meetings        
  • To create opportunities for colleagues from commercial and technical functions to engage clients in technical and business-generating conversations 
  • To build and sustain attendance at MIGs - in line with agreed objectives - through appropriate marketing and communications activities 
  • To moderate and manage the MIG LinkedIn group and MIG webinars, to facilitate discussion amongst members 
  • To oversee and manage the content of the MIGs section of the website 
  • To manage client enquiries regarding the MIG system and member participation in it

  • To support the commercial and technical functions in the promotion of the outputs of the Client Funded Research  Programme 

Qualifications, skills and experience

  • Preferably a degree in a relevant subject and a broad understanding of the science and technology underpinning the production of food and drink
  • An understanding of the food and drink supply chain, the challenges it faces and the role that science and technology can play in addressing these challenges
  • A can-do, friendly, diplomatic and enthusiastic attitude
  • Very strong organisational skills with a high level of attention to detail
  • Evidence of strong verbal communications skills - with the ability to interact well with colleagues, clients and collaborators at all levels of business, from junior recruits to board level, in 'committee' and more general situations, including presenting information to groups (e.g. at MIG meetings)
  • Evidence of strong written communications skills - with the ability to express technical and commercial information cogently and with language tailored to specific audiences (e.g. specialist, non-technical)
  • Networking skills to encourage good business relationships
