Distribution Shift Manager

We currently have an opportunity for a Distribution Shift Manager, following a monthly rotational shift pattern:

Month 1 
Sunday & Monday 0600 – 1700
Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday 0600 - 1300

Month 2 
Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday – 2100 – 0400
Friday & Saturday 1700 – 0400 

Supervising and managing the day to day operational tasks of the department, the Distribution Shift Manager will be responsible in facilitating the efficient and effective utilisation of resources between sites to meet the overall out loading requirements. Identifying methods to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the tasks, the Distribution Shift Manager’s role also includes enhancing the perception of the distribution function and working collaboratively with others to ensure delivery of business goals and objectives, whilst driving cost savings through efficiencies and improving supplier relationships. 

Consistent in their approach and having the ability to delegate and negotiate, the Distribution Shift Manager will be accountable for:

• Daily operational supervision of Team Leaders
• Working with Distribution Co-ordinator to ensure adherence to all legal requirements of our drivers and fleet.
• Working with Team Leaders to ensure holiday/absence does not negatively impact the department 
• Ensuring that appropriate manpower is moved between sites as necessary. 
• Acting as a single point of contact with Production for manning requests
• Working with Production, L&D and HR to ensure stand up provision is delivered effectively
• Liaising with hauliers to ensure efficient out loading
• Managing relationships with key suppliers to ensure adequate support of our equipment
• Covering Distribution Mangers holiday / absence
• With advance notice, potentially covering Distributions Team Leader’s shift as necessary.

Candidates must possess excellent communication and listening skills, lead by example and have problem solving capability.

Flexibility is also essential.

Indicative Salary Range: £27000 - 30000
