Settle Dairy is situated in North Yorkshire and is Arla Foods UHT milk processing and packing site in the UK. It supplies a number of retailer own label and Arla branded UHT products. It is also subject to a major investment project which will lead to a significant uplift in volume and product portfolio through 2020 into 2021 and beyond.

The Role

As Production Manager you will be responsible for a high quality, health and safety culture within cost effective manufacturing. You will operate as a key member of the site senior team reporting to the Site Director.
You will lead a team of production team leaders and indirectly manage upwards of 80 operatives and technicians.
You will work closely with other departments and support functions to ensure plans are achieved in the most timely and efficient manner while ensuring project responsibilities are delivered.
With a hands on coaching management approach you will be a strategic leader who can help drive the site forward to deliver its business plans and meet future objectives.

Skills

We are looking for a high calibre Production Manager who has the drive and motivation to take the site to the next performance level. You will have a proven track record in production management within an FMCG or food manufacturing environment. In a fast changing environment you must be able to demonstrate outstanding communication, people engagement, decision making and influencing skills.

A cross functional mind-set is essential in order to deliver in this role. You must also be able to demonstrate knowledge and application of Lean tools and techniques operating within a Line Centred Operation and strong Continual Improvement environment.
A proven record of sound financial and business acumen is essential and the ability to manage a departmental forecast.
