HERE'S A TASTE OF WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

In this role you will be responsible for leading the industrial design process for a number of key strategic projects to drive the product innovation process, with a particular focus on design thinking, concept visualisation and rapid prototype development  to to deliver exciting innovation to market

Responsibilities include:

  • Leads the industrial design process for a number of key projects to drive the product innovation process and deliver ideas to market
  • Creates & manages an external network of contractors and suppliers to deliver business objectives
  • Works towards opportunities for driving brand growth, increasing product quality and increasing company profits through the design processes and products.
  • Carries out concept development to an advanced level where they are approved for market and Factory production considering the likely process to allow smooth implementation.
  • Works effectively with Packaging, Commercial, Supply Chain and Purchasing colleagues & influences them with sound technical advice.
  • To keep up to date with industrial design methods and how these could be implemented within a design process to create innovative and rapid solutions.

YOUR RECIPE FOR SUCCESS

Required

  • Degree level qualification (or higher) in Industrial design or equivalent, with design/product development experience. Food and/or confectionery experience is an advantage.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and manipulate process input parameters, and to explore their impact on final product attributes
  • A good appreciation of commercial and technical aspects of confectionery or food production
  • A good understanding of innovation and product development processes\
  • Proven ability to work effectively and build relationships with other relevant internal stakeholders and external third parties
  • Visible personal initiative and drive with ability to complete process/product developments against testing timescales
  • Highly motivated individual with strong influencing skills
  • Strong commercial awareness and creativity
  • Excellent ability to plan, organise and prioritise activity
  • Good numerical ability
  • Experience in the use of Solidworks a 3d CAD package
