The company

We are seeking a talented individual to join a family run business which supply both own label and branded products to UK leading supermarkets, wholesalers, foodservice and manufacturing customers.

The job

Reporting to the Technical Manager, as Technical Assistant you will be responsible for assisting in the day-to-day running of the food technology department, ensuring all documentation is completed accurately and in a timely manner and all required standards are met.

You will investigate customer complaints with supplier factories and respond back to customers, carry out trend analysis, complete product specifications on the retailer specification systems, complete product quality attribute sheets, complete monthly reports for retailers, set up and run sampling and benchmarking sessions, help prepare for customer reviews, despatch samples as required plus carry out admin duties for the department.

Your experience

To be considered for the Technical Assistant job, you will preferably be educated to a degree/HND level in a food science discipline and/or possess previous food industry technical experience either from a university placement or full-time role.

You will have good communication skills and be IT literate (including Word and Excel) plus have fantastic attention to detail. Additional qualifications such as HACCP, Food Safety and Food Hygiene are all desirable.

The Technical Assistant job is based in the South East / Home Counties region and is paying £18,000 - £25,000 according to individual skills and previous experience. The working hours are Monday to Friday, office hours.
