Job Details

As a Transport shift manager you will take the lead in the day to day operation of the collection of raw milk from our producers who, as a co-operative business, are also our owners. Reporting into the Transport Manager you will lead a team of drivers operating milk collection tankers and reload vehicles whilst ensuring that daily activity aligns with the business plan along with legal compliance and health & safety.

This is a Monday to Friday role but flexibility is needed to cover evenings and nights.

Closely liaising with Head Office, you will plan and organise the shift to ensure efficient and effective management of the milk collection operation, as the first point of contact for farmers and resolving issues as they arise.
You will participate in route planning, using systems such as Isotrak, Optitool and SAP. As a people manager, you will motivate your team to succeed but also be responsible for day to day training, development, performance management, absence management, discipline and grievances. In a time when managing costs is a key focus for the business, you will ensure maximum combination vehicle utilisation.

Grow with Arla
…because we're committed to professional development and promoting from within. Our positive and collaborative culture will bring out the best in you. And you'll join a market leader who produces nutritious household-favourite brands in a way that makes things better for our customers, the farmers who own us, and the whole world.

A responsible and forward-looking business, we make healthy taste delicious, mornings worth getting up for, and family dinners unforgettable. Cravendale®, Anchor®, Lurpak® and Castello® - names like these make us a vital, natural part of modern life in over 100 countries worldwide.

You are
…an experienced Transport Team Leader or Shift Manager, ideally with a National CPC qualification, although this is not essential. You will be a proactive leader with the ability to deliver accurate results under tight and pressured time constraints.
Without the ongoing delivery of raw milk to our dairies we cannot produce high quality dairy products for our customers, so this role is essential in achieving our business goals.

Apply
...online as soon as possible please. We offer a competitive salary relative to the current market. We look forward to hearing from you.
