Manufacturing Technician

Do you have what it takes to work in a fast-paced Manufacturing environment? If so this is the job for you! Speedibake currently has an excellent opportunity to join our Bakery Operative team at our Wakefield bakery.

Speedibake is a division of Associated British Foods (ABF), a diversified international food, ingredients and retail group with sales of £15.6 billion and 137,000 employees in 50 countries.

Speedibake has bakery sites in Wakefield and Bradford specialising in own-label baked goods, we supply to a customer base across all channels; foodservice wholesalers, contract catering, end users, export and retail.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Responsible for adhering to safe systems of work processes and acting in a safe manner to protect the health and safety of yourself and others at all times.
• Adhere to health and safety and food hygiene policies.
• Working on a high-speed production line
• To assist in the production and packing of high-quality foods
• Achieving set levels of performance and product quality
• Knowing when to escalate problems to the Production Supervisor or Technical team
• Follow all Quality systems and procedures to ensure our products meet food safety (HACCP), legal and customer requirements as well as maintaining external standards eg BRC
• Work with a positive attitude to problem solving and team work, supporting colleagues across the site functions.
• Complete line paperwork in a timely and accurate manner.
• Set a high standard of good manufacturing practice (e.g. clean as you go).

Skills

• Good planning and prioritising skills
• Strong communication skills
• A good level of verbal and numerical skills
• Experience in a food manufacturing environment
• Level 2 Food Hygiene
• Must have a flexible approach to work in relation to working days and hours, additional hours will be required during busy periods

You will be required to work 1 week days 1 week nights shift pattern, 12-hour days and nights working 6am - 6pm and 6pm - 6am.
