The job

The purpose of your role will be to support the Purchasing Manager in all aspects of supply chain and purchasing functions plus liaise regularly with the external co packer network.

You will assist with regulating stocks accurately & efficiently, stay up to date with evolving supply requirements, negotiate with suppliers to ensure the best possible price, ensure all purchase requests are accurate & necessary for business needs, ensure approval for purchasing contracts with new vendors or on new supplies, work to tight deadlines so that there is no break in supply of product, work to deliver the team objective of 98% OTIF supply, identify cost improvement initiatives plus assist the Purchasing Manager with the maintenance of key business reports and operating systems.

Your experience

You will possess a solid track record within a purchasing related role (3 years +) and have excellent organisation, negotiation and communication skills. You will also have excellent IT skills and proficiency in Excel is essential. You will be able to multi-task efficiently, work to tight deadlines and possess a good commercial awareness.

The Assistant Purchasing Manager job is based in East Sussex and is paying a competitive salary according to individual skills and previous experience. The working hours are Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm.
