Technical Manager

Our Daylesford family is growing, and we are looking for an engaging and passionate Technical Manager to join us at Daylesford Farm, near Kingham.

Full time contract, based on 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9am – 6pm. Salary up to £40,000 depending on experience.

About the role

As a Technical Manager, you will take ownership of the technical function for our Production units. You will be responsible in the delivery and control of all matters related to food safety, quality, compliance & adherence with our procedures.

You’ll work closely with the Head of Technical, Technologist, Head of Production and Production Managers to ensure the business complies to the latest legislations and SALSA standards.

Main responsibilities

  • Management of HACCP across all units ensuring communications with the Production team is effective to guarantee expectations are met.
  • Ensure process is followed for all new products (food & primary packaging)
  • Maintain specifications for all existing ingredients, packaging & product and audit of existing.
  • Complete quarterly production inspections, circulate reports and recommended actions
  • Review monthly microbiological and chemical results, identify trends and route causes to provide improvements
  • Monitor complaints, identify trends and implement robust corrective action
  • Provide training for the production team according to our training procedure

About you

We're looking for a Technical manager with a real eye for detail. You must be a good communicator and have  a proven track record in industry.

Experience Needed

  • Minimum 5 years’ in industry with previous experience in a technical or quality function
  • Relevant Food Science degree
  • Auditing qualification
  • Intermediate HACCP Certificate (Advanced desirable)
  • Advanced Food Hygiene Certificate (Level 4)
  • 2 years’ experience of working with BRC standards in a chilled food/high risk environment
  • Technical experience in dairy, specifically milk processing (desirable but not essential)
