Graduate Category Analyst
Our client is one of the leading fresh food suppliers to the UK supermarkets, and due to a reorganisation they are looking to strengthen their team by appointing a Graduate Category Analyst to strengthen the category management team within their business.
Reporting into the Commercial controller, working alongside the account management team, this role will involve analysing the categories the business is involved with by product line. With the vast amount of data available the successful candidate will filter this in to clear and concise reports which will allow the commercial teams to make recommendations on key product lines and categories with their major customers.
The role will involve working with the buying and category management teams of some of the UK's largest retailers in developing plans to drive sales forward for both retailer and supplier, helping them achieve exceptional category growth. Running focus groups, managing data suppliers such as TNS, Dunnhumby and AC Nielson will all be part of this role.

The role will primarily be to use and interpret the data they buy and supplement it with online data and retailer data. From this, the role will be to create standard reports for sales team to build the case for listing new lines as well as aiding better merchandising in the retail outlets. In addition to this you will be required to measure marketing effectiveness, and project manage all shopper marketing, creating systems to support the delivery of NPD projects.
The skills they require:
* Excellent Excel and data manipulation skills
* Excellent analytical skills - able to use data and create compelling data-based stories, combined with wider consumer and market understanding.
* Excellent presentation skills e.g. PowerPoint. Create compelling simple stories for internal and external use.
* Creative thinking - able to see the wood for the trees, to be able to see through a mass of data and find the key arguments. Then present them in straightforward ways that persuade people to action
