The Company.

The Role. 
The successful candidate will ensure the safety and scientific integrity of products and product-related materials for the EMEA markets, with specific responsibility for ensuring that all product claims are scientifically substantiated and meet regulatory requirements in the EU and other EMEA markets. Working closely with various internal and external stakeholders, you will build the credibility of the business’s brands in EMEA by ensuring product integrity and therefore instilling confidence to consumer.

Personal Profile.

  • Bachelor's or master's degree or PhD in biochemistry, nutrition, food science biology, chemistry or related field. 
  • Industry experience ideally in the field of scientific claims support for food (including food supplements). 
  • Understanding of relevant EU food legislation. 
  • Proven track record in evaluation of scientific literature and communication of scientific / regulatory information to both specialist and non-technical functions. 
  • Knowledge of Agile and Oracle systems. 
  • Ability to network with internal stakeholders. 
  • Autonomous approach. 
  • Proven organizational skills and ability to multitask. 
  • Experience in a fast-paced setting with evolving goals and objectives. 
  • Clear and concise oral and written communication skills in English. 

Key Accountabilities.

  • Work with direct reports to develop product safety dossiers in conjunction with the Product Science team, and focus on the scientific substantiation for EMEA markets. 
  • Prepare reports to support the scientific substantiation of product safety and claims 
  • Report project statuses to line manager on a weekly basis, through meetings or reporting, as necessary. 
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders (Marketing, Technology, Corporate Affairs, Product Regulatory, Nutrition Policy, Medical Affairs, Nutrition Advisory Board and Government Affairs) when developing supporting material for various company’s initiatives. 
  • Identify and pursue potential external Key Opinion Leaders to establish working partnerships aimed at supporting company’s effort in several areas. 
  • Manage other Scientific Affairs Staff in the Region. 
  • Communicates critical issues to line management and other relevant parties in a timely manner, including a proposed solution or set of possible solutions.
