Process Development Technologist

The Company

Our client is a food manufacturing company supplying an expansive range of tasty and on-trend products to retail customers. They are continually growing from strength to strength, and they are now seeking a proactive Process Technologist to help drive product innovation and efficiency.

The Role

Reporting to the Process Manager you’ll play a key role in taking brilliant new products through to a successful launch by evaluating and developing manufacturing processes and procedures. You will support the Innovations team by providing technical solutions and advice on the feasibility of new products, ensuring ranges are commercially viable as well as cost efficient in line with business strategy.

Enthusiastic and organised, you’ll plan, arrange & co-ordinate factory trials using your keen eye for detail to spot any non-conformances whilst documenting and analysing results for ongoing reviews. You will need to be up to date with all customer projects, the critical paths and agree the weekly trial schedule with cross-functional teams. In this varied role you’ll also arrange regular supplier visits in order to keep up to date with new ingredients and technologies. 

The Person

Suit a passionate Process Technologist who has gained experience in a fast paced food manufacturing environment.  Ideally a Food Technology / Science graduate who can work as part of a large NPD team to deliver successful product launches. 

You’ll have developed a good knowledge of the technical aspects of food production along with strong project management skills, commercial awareness and the drive to apply continuous improvement initiatives.

Excellent communication and relationship building skills are essential as you’ll be liaising closely with internal colleagues and customers at all levels. Strong organisation and prioritisation skills are also crucial for achieving results in this role.
