Quality Assurance Apprentice

Ashby (Home of Hula Hoops, Skips, Space Raiders, popchips and more)


As our QA Apprentice in Ashby, you'll be a key member of the site Technical team, working closely with the Quality team and key personnel from other departments.


What you'll be doing:

  • Driving food safety standards and influencing high standards within the factory
  • Supporting the site implementation of IWS (Intersnack Work Systems - our operational standard)
  • Goods in analysis and approval of raw materials
  • Support the Quality Management System (QMS)
  • Support analytical tests & maintain equipment
  • Management of specifications
  • Preparation, issue and filing of technical documentation
  • Carrying out Internal Audits and closing out of non-conformances
  • Training colleagues in quality procedures and methods
  • Supporting site with investigation and trending of customer complaints
  • Support allergen management within the factory
  • Assist the launch of new products, ensuring that products are compliant with HACCP and specifications
  • Support the site HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) system
  • Management & completion of site GMP audit plan
  • Work effectively within the broader site teams during customer or 3rd party visits or audits whilst supporting the Technical department
  • Support site sensory activities, including end of life and benchmark reviews of online evaluation and daily offline evaluation
  • Support check weighing systems
  • Support and maintain document control


The role is operationally focussed and you’ll be expected to spend a significant proportion of your time in the factory.
