The company

You will be working for a traditional business which produces high quality, organic dairy products which are supplied to wholesalers and specialist retailers. The business has seen phenomenal growth over the last few years and has installed new production lines to meet demand.

The job

The Food Production Plant Assistant is a very hands-on role and is responsible for the day to day production, processing, and packaging of dairy products.

This is a fantastic opportunity as you will play a key role in this food production enterprise which has seen fantastic growth.

You will operate the filling lines, ensure that the product is refrigerated within the correct time frames, operate the labelling machinery plus ensure all final products are packaged correctly.

Your experience

We are seeking a proactive and highly organised individual who has previous experience working in a food or beverage production environment (essential). A background of working with dairy products, milk or dairy processing is highly beneficial.

You will also:

  • Possess a working knowledge of food production machinery and processing protocols
  • Good mathematical skills and English skills for managing product orders and despatch
  • Food Hygiene and Food Safety certificates highly desirable
  • Be capable of lifting up to 200 x 23kg boxes per day
  • Preferably be a holder of a Forklift Truck licence
  • Driving Licence required due to site location

The Food Production Plant Assistant job is based in the Wiltshire region and is paying up to £28,600 (paid at £11.00 per hour) plus 32 days annual leave.

The working hours will be 45-50 hours per week, which will be variable according to production schedules and overtime available. The shift pattern is based on a 4-week rotating schedule of 8 hour shifts.

The role also offers excellent scope for progression, salary increase and promotion within the business.
