The job

As Raw Material Technologist, you will be responsible for selecting and approving raw materials and suppliers plus ensure the ongoing quality and suitability of all raw material ingredients used by the business.

  • Manage existing, new and alternative raw material providers
  • Maintain and develop the supplier management process
  • Carry out ongoing assessment of ingredients to ensure suitability and compliance
  • Ensure supplier products and systems reflect legislative requirements
  • Manage raw material quality issues through to resolution
  • Ensure all raw materials have up to date specifications
  • Maintain an annual supplier auditing schedule and ensure completion of supplier audits

Your experience

The Raw Material Technologist job would suit an enthusiastic and meticulous individual who wants to progress and develop in an international food manufacturing business.

You will ideally be educated to a degree / HND level in a food technology related discipline and possess solid experience in a food manufacturing technical role. Preferably with experience in supplier/raw material management.

You will have sound knowledge of food legislation, raw materials specifications and supplier approval processes, have fantastic attention to detail and be IT literate.

A full UK valid driving licence is required to carry out supplier auditing both nationwide and internationally. Company hire cars and all associated travel expenses are paid for.

The Raw Material Technologist job is based in the North West region and is paying a highly competitive salary according to individual skills and previous experience.

The working hours are Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week. The company offer flexible hours to start/finish work earlier or later.
