Purchasing Executive

As an importer of a variety of prestigious brands from across the world, our client supplies a range of speciality foods into the retail, wholesale and food service sectors. The business is going through a dynamic time of change and development, with more exciting expansion plans in the pipeline.

Job Role
The main responsibility of the role is to work with the suppliers internationally along with the customers based in the UK, ensuring all delivery times are met and stock levels are accurate at all times. You will be involved with ordering goods, dealing with suppliers and forecasting, whilst managing relationships with new (and existing) suppliers and customers.

Responsibilities

• Purchasing background, preferably from the food sector
• Attention to detail is the key for success with this role
• Strong and accurate administration skills are essential
• Excellent skills with Microsoft Excel is pivotal, SAGE experience is desirable
• Ability to analyse industry data 
• Successful communicator, able to build strong relationships with colleagues and suppliers
• Flexible and prepared to get involved with all aspects of the business
• Actively drive continuous improvement in supplier performance in relation to cost, quality and service
• Monitor short dated and surplus stock levels effectively, ensuring the timely reporting to the sales teams
• Liaison with colleagues regarding sales and marketing, particularly during seasonal promotions and product launches

• Pro-active mindset who can problem solve and always find a solution
• Tenacious attitude to ensure all items are delivered OTIF
• Positive and outgoing personality is essential, as you will be speaking with a broad range of clients, suppliers and colleagues
• Excellent Microsoft Excel skills
• Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
