In order to ensure we can continue to make fantastic biscuits, and to help us on this amazing journey, we are proud to announce that in 2019 we completed the acquisition of a premium sweet and savoury biscuit manufacturer Thomas Fudge’s, also in 2019 we acquired Scottish bakers Paterson Arran. This will increase our baking capabilities across a number of new sweet and savoury categories.

Why work as part of the Burton’s Biscuit Family as our Site Services Manager?
You will manage the maintenance of the site facilities, providing service support from both internal and external resources in a timely, cost and energy efficient manner.
Work cross functionally across Engineering, Operations, Health & Safety, Planning, Stores and the Senior Factory leadership teams, you will continually develop our engineering & safety systems to improve the wellbeing of our employees, in a large and fast paced food manufacturing site.
You will play a key role to ensure the Bakery remains at an optimum level, helping the business achieve is key performance targets.
What are the key ingredients needed for the role?
You will have a time served qualification in either Electrical / Mechanical to NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent standard), along with a strong appreciation for H&S via an IOSH / NEBOSH qualification. Use of continuous improvement tools and techniques will be a key, in particular TPM would be a bonus but is not essential.
Is it highly desirable you have experience in leading a site services strategy from a FMCG environment, with management experience highly desirable as would working within a unionised environment.
Ideally we would like candidates to have any of the following: Green Belt Six Sigma, Food Safety / Hygiene qualification, Gas Duty holder GA100, Legionella awareness or Asbestos awareness. Any further educations or professional development such as a Degree, NVQ Level 4 or ILM Level 5 would be a plus.
As this is a cross functional role, the ability to build key relationships quickly across various teams is essential, excellent communication skills are a must, as you will be working within a large and busy fast paced bakery.
