I am currently recruiting for a Weekend Shift Engineering Manager position for one of my clients’ sites in Lancashire.

This company has been growing for over 50 years, and has become the manufacturer of products supplied to most retailers.

The Role:

  • Manage a team
  • Implementation and improvement plans
  • Take ownership of PPM system

You’ll be working at the company’s site in Lancashire as a Weekend Shift Engineering Manager. You will work towards continuous improvement of all machinery equipment and ways of working in line with business strategy. To take ownership of your engineering shift team.

Assist the engineering department in achieving its budget targets through the efficient use of materials and replacement parts. You’ll support and coach relevant employees in all aspects of shared maintenance and work alongside side Engineering team. Ensure both you and your direct staff have received all the necessary training and development to enable effective capability within the team to work on all production/refrigeration equipment and to undertake tasks in a safe manner.

The Candidate:

  • Recognised engineering qualification
  • Manufacturing environment experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Previous experience in multi-skilled engineering supervisory is essential, both mechanical and electrical; this could either be through an engineering apprenticeship, degree or HNC. It would be desirable if you had previous experience in Food Manufacturing / FMCG, however any experience in relevant sector will be considered. Knowledge and experience with fault diagnosis, breakdown repairs and wrapping machines is preffered.

You will have an ability to work in a team and on own initiative while supporting your colleagues if help is needed.
