This role is working as part of a large, vibrant team who are passionate about the best quality standards. As Fish Coordinator, you will be responsible for assessing and reporting on the quality and freshness of fish products sourced by the business.
You will visit suppliers and company distribution centres to ensure all fish products meet the required standards and to the correct specifications (i.e. correct cuts) – fully documenting all findings including any products/fish suppliers which fail to meet these.
You will also recommend the best cuts of fish for the customer; including most suitable product packaging required to best display the products, ensuring high customer satisfaction.
You may have solid experience working for a specialist fish supplier/whoelsaler or you may be a Fishmonger who is looking to step into the food production industry. Either way, you will possess an excellent knowledge of fish products including the ability to assess fish quality, freshness, types of cuts etc.
You will understand how fish products should be best displayed to be the most attractive and enticing for customers.
Academic qualifications are not essential, however any Food Safety, QA or Food Auditing training would be a benefit. Knowledge of UK retailer standards would also be advantageous.
A UK valid driving licence and the ability to travel within the UK is also required, including some overnight stays.
The Fish Coordinator job is based in the London region and is paying up to £30,000 according to individual skills and previous experience.
