The role of QA Supervisor is to manage the day-to-day quality management system within a food factory environment.
As Quality Supervisor, you will foster great team work between the Production and Quality teams of the organisation, supporting the business as a whole.
Manage an effective Quality team.
Ensure that information relating to key quality/food safety aspects is available through the provision of relevant and accurate information.
Have full responsibility for BRC v8 and managing HACCP on the site.
Ensure that QMS procedures for the organisation are embedded within all areas of the business.
Manage the complaints system from a factory point of view, ensuring that fully detailed investigations are carried out in a timely manner identifying root causes.
Provide the correct and relevant input on quality/food safety issues as and when required by customers and the wider operation.
To manage and lead HACCAP team.
Ensure compliance on Covid-19 and hygiene standards.
Ensure that the factory follows specifications to produce good quality products that meet the specifications.
Ensure all specifications are up to date and legally compliant.
Monitor the quality of the factory’s production against defined standards.
Review, define and monitor cleaning systems and standards.
Undertake and maintain supplier approval processes.
Provide training for the production staff where appropriate.
Ensure and carry out internal audits of the Quality, HACCP and Hygiene Systems.
Monitor the control and documentation of procedures and forms.
To implement and monitor appropriate checks are carried out within the production area.
Liaise with customers and any appropriate external bodies.
Monitor and maintain t quality of the factory’s production against agreed standards.
To improve and maintain the Production department systems in line with the agreed quality systems.
To provide guidance and expertise on food safety and quality issues.
QA Supervisor Skills/Experience:
Knowledge of the manufacturing pastry products in a low and medium risk environment.
Must have Experience of managing BRC v8.
Experience in the review and improvement of a HACCP and Quality Management system.
Qualified HACCP Level 3.
An excellent team player showing maturity in dealing with a manufacturing and production environment, and the issues relevant to food safety.
Must have excellent people management skills and ability to deliver against objectives in a timely manner in a high pressure environment.
Ideally educated to degree level in a food related discipline.
Knowledge of manufacturing flour based products.
Candidate must be reliable in both attendance & time keeping. A good attitude towards ensuring working procedures are adhered to is essential. Ideally has experience of operating in a food manufacturing environment with flour based products such as bread.
Working Week: Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm
Indicative Salary Range: £26000 - 30000
