The job

This is an outstanding opportunity for a positive and dedicated food science graduate to join a leading, international manufacturer where you can grow your food science career.

The purpose of your role will be to provide the company with in-depth knowledge and understanding of ingredient processes and functionality to deliver product solutions that meet commercial needs and contribute to the ongoing success of the business.

Part of your core duties will be cost formulations, recipe development, raw material cost reduction and keeping up to date with the latest pet food trends.

Your experience

You will be educated to a degree level in a food science, food technology or related discipline (a degree within animal nutrition or similar would be perfect) and experience working in an NPD/R&D food industry role would also be highly beneficial, either from a University placement of full-time role.

You will be able to demonstrate a solid knowledge of food ingredients functionality and knowledge of pet food products would be a distinct benefit. An understanding of UK retailer standards would also be desirable.

You will be highly motivated, have fantastic attention to detail and a passion for the food industry is essential. Fluency in both Spanish and English is also required.

The Junior R&D Technologist role is a full-time role and permanently based in the Castilla y León region in Spain.

The job would suit an individual who currently lives in Spain or could relocate. In the future, there is the potential for the successful candidate to transfer to another one of the company sites within Europe.

The role is paying £24,000 - £26,000 according to individual skills and previous experience (equates to approximately €26,500 - €28,700). The working hours are Monday to Friday, office hours.
