Trading Manager

Up to 60K DOE

Open to location (regular days needed in Cheshire and Gloucestershire)


Lead, manage and plan key customer account activities to maximize profit, deliver growth and develop long term business relationships. To identify and develop new customer and product opportunities.


  • Lead and manage key customer accounts to maximise profitability
  • Ensure customer relationships are managed professionally
  • Develop and promote positive corporate image and reputation
  • Plan tactically to agreed objectives. Feedback relevant commercial information relating to markets, customers, and competitors in a timely and efficient way
  • Plan, agree and deliver on annual budget for sales to specific accounts
  • Work closely with the Commercial Director to develop new products / markets and to provide support where necessary
  • Establish and develop relationships with suppliers and producers to secure suitable raw materials for production
  • To gain an understanding of the market and the effects that foreign exchange rates and tariffs have on market prices
  • Work closely with Trading Director to gain greater understanding of supply, logistics and trading within the business
  • Contribute the development of effective planning systems through sales forecasting and monitoring, working closely with other departments to ensure timely productions requirements are met and stock levels are maintained
  • Contribute to the strategic direction of the business


  • Degree educated, relevant experience selling into food manufacturers or experience within food ingredients trading
  • Driving license
  • Commercial awareness
  • Numerical skills
  • IT skills
  • Presentation skills
