An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Customer Engineer to join a world leader in its field, with a fantastic reputation for its products and services. Although a leader, they are always striving to improve and offer the best to their customers. With a vast customer portfolio they supply into multiple channels including retail and food & beverage businesses.
You will be working within the commercial team, reporting to the Head of Commercial Development, and having a huge part to play with their customers. You will have the chance to add real value across multiple facets of the business, both internal and external, which really helps to set them apart from others in the market.
The key objectives are to build relationships with customers' and provide technical support while also being required to trouble shoot issues on customer locations around the UK. The role is varied and though not directly sales driven you should be able to create value for the customer and the employer.
Other key responsibilities will be, but not limited to
*Being a champion of Safety and Health always demonstrating H&S leadership. Be mindful of Customer's safety and health requirements at all times
*Conduct Safety and Health risk assessments and drive improvements at customers sites
*Champion the employer's values in all customer relationships. Understanding the customer needs and how we best drive value.
*Root cause and continuous improvement techniques to identify issues and effective resolutions
*Drive a programme of activity. Working with sales team and independently to identify projects and build business cases
*Act as a technical link and consultancy service; providing advice on best practice, equipment specification and plant configuration
*Keeps up to date with engineering technologies available in order to provide credible support to customers
*Develop unique, innovative solutions for the employer/Customers
*Support the resolution of customer issues or complaints
*Liaise with Commercial teams to provide market intelligence gained about our customers
*Working with our 3PL's to ensure our service and processes meet the required customer requirements at the right cost
You will have a huge scope within this role to really make a difference to the customer and the employer , working with customer managers to prioritise activity ensure the employer is delivering objectives, there will be a high degree of autonomy to manage your own work load in order to meet the customers' needs.
The perfect candidate for this role will:
*Have a technical qualification in engineering or science
*HACCP for manufacturing qualification (desired)
*NEBOSH or IOSH
*Basic food certificate
*Broad knowledge of health and safety requirements and demonstrating hight standards in FMCG environments
*Broad engineering experience with at least part of that gained in an FMCG environment
*Experience in managing engineering projects
*Effective and comfortable communication skills across different people in a business with the ability to articulate technical information in a clear way
*Be highly organised
*Have some degree of building and maintaining networks internally and externally
*Be a self-starter and be self-motivated.
*Flexible in their approach to work
*Full UK Driving Licence
