The company

We are seeking a talented individual to work for an innovative, high quality manufacturer which supplies to various retailers throughout the UK.

The job

The Quality Systems Manager will be responsible for managing team priorities whilst ensuring customer audits, internal audits and standard audits are handled to a high standard. You will liaise with the quality and hygiene team to support site compliance with BRC and customer requirements.

Other core duties:

• Support the site with the “audit ready” agenda - prepare for and manage site audits and assessments alongside the Site Quality Manager
• Decision making for supplier approval and supplier evaluation activities, including suppliers auditing schedules
• Responsible for ensuring BRC and customer standards requirements are effectively communicated to suppliers
• Responsible for maintaining Food Safety & Quality Management systems
• Create food safety and quality training materials and provide technical systems training as required
• Carry out technical KPI’s reporting and monitoring

Your experience

Ideally educated to a degree level in a food science/technology discipline, you will possess a minimum of 3 years experience managing technical and quality systems within a food production environment.

You will possess good knowledge of GFSI and UK Retailer standards plus be experienced with BRC.

You will be a holder of Food Hygiene and HACCP (Level 3) and additional food safety qualifications such as Internal Auditing and Lead Auditor are preferred.

You will also have the flexibility to travel to suppliers and customers as part of your role.

High attention to detail is essential together with excellent communication skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment plus good IT skills.
