Salary: £35,000 - £40,000

Hednersonbrown are currently recruiting for an Asset Care/PPM Engineer for a leading food manufacturing business based in Cambridgeshire. They have recently received a large investment and have great growth plans over the next 12 months.

Reporting to the Asset Care & Projects Manager, the Asset Care Engineer will be responsible for delivering the Preventative Maintenance and statutory compliance for the sites. The role will also entail working closely with the Engineering team at a site level to support the Engineering stores and stock management. The role will help support, the defining of the critical spares requirements and also the procurement of these spares.

Main Duties and Responsibilities are:

Engineering Maintenance:
*Support the Maintenance of the sites asset register, including new plant and equipment.
* Deliver the planned maintenance schedule for the business.
*Support Engineering Team when required on planned repairs
*Control of contractors used for Engineering support.
*Managing the sites asset register in conjunction with the Engineering Administrator.
*Support teams to effectively achieve KPI targets
*Contribute as a team to achieve company objectives
*Contribute & support Continuous Improvement projects.
*Be available in audit / customer visit situations across the business
*To maintain high standards of hygiene at all times, as per the Company's procedures
*To maintain good team work and take personal responsibility for the task(s) you have been assigned
*In conjunction with Engineering function develop project plans to improve performance
*Support cross functional departments in ensuring business objectives are met.
*Actively promote the 'Company Values' and company policies and procedures in all areas of work.
*Support engineering practices to in line with best practice within the industry.
*Promote and improve H&S and environmental practices within the engineering function.
*Work with other sites and teams to promote best practice and key learning's.

H&S
*Maintain health & safety at all times, and lead by example.
*Ensure dynamic risk assessments are produced as required
*Manage service contractors H&S when they are on site.
*Ensure that any machinery which is brought on to site has been assessed and is safe to use.
*Prohibit any unsafe practices or conditions in a timely manner.
*Cooperate with all other Managers in maintaining a safe place of work.
*Make suggestions to improve any aspect of health and safety.
*Follow the accident/incident or near miss reporting procedures.
*Demonstrate personal involvement and support to ensure the Company's Health and Safety policy is effective and maintained
*To ensure adherence to all Health and Safety policies adopted by Pioneer Foods UK Ltd and to ensure compliance with all statutory duties.
*Liaising with the Health and Safety Reps to monitor and develop procedures to ensure that the Company has the appropriate structures, systems and processes in place to meet its statutory Health and Safety responsibilities.

Environment
*Always take into account the environmental impact of projects or actions.
*Ensure legal compliance when moving/removing hazardous waste.
*Work with the Health/Safety & Environmental manager and seek advise when required.

Quality
*Support Production & Engineering adherence to the Quality and food safety system in conjunction with the Quality Manger and Quality Team.
*Liaise with the Quality Team on Quality Assurances issues as required.
*To work with Factory Quality Managers and Group Technical Manager to ensure full compliance with all statutory requirements.
*To support the development of a quality culture with employees that leads to continuous improvement of product quality

The ideal candidate for this role will be an apprentice trained engineer with a formal electrical qualification, a minimum qualification of ONC in an engineering discipline. It is essential that you have food manufacturing experience, a great team player with a good understanding of the principles and practice of food safety and maintenance.

It is essential that you have great organisational skills, time management and are confident communicating across both written and verbal forms.
