Role: Asset Care & Project Manager
Salary: Up to £50,000
Hednersonbrown are currently recruiting for an Asset Care & Project Manager for a leading food manufacturing business based in Cambridgeshire. They have recently received a large investment and have great growth plans over the next 12 months.
Reporting to the Head of Engineering, you will be responsible for supporting the Preventative Maintenance System and managing the scheduling of preventative work and statutory compliance for the site. This will mean managing and co-ordinating the Engineering plan, with the relevant departments, that will enable the business to operate in a more proactive way in reference to managing the sites assets and providing legislative compliance. The role will also entail working closely with the Engineering team to support the Engineering stores and stock management. The role will help support, the defining of the critical spares requirements and also the procurement of these spares.
The main responsibilities are:
Manage and deliver projects, as assigned. Bring strong planning and process skills to the team and will have management accountability for the definition and execution of the project plans including project initiation, planning, execution, controlling and closing out the project. Manage project dependencies and team and stake holder relationships (as required) as it relates to the project and ensure timely and effective communication with the project team and with the project stakeholders.
*Control and maintain the sites asset register, including new plant and equipment.
*Formulate and control the planned maintenance schedule for the business.
*Support Engineering Team when required
*Planning contractor engineering support when required
*Managing the sites asset register
*Support teams to effectively achieve KPI targets and manage the departments scorecard
*Contribute as a team to achieve company objectives
*Contribute & support Continuous Improvement projects.
*Be available in audit / customer visit situations across the business
*To maintain high standards of hygiene at all times, as per the Company's procedures
*To maintain good team work and take personal responsibility for the task(s) you have been assigned
*Agree setting of the OEE targets with the Engineering & Production teams.
*In conjunction with Engineering function develop project plans to improve performance, these projects with costs and any return on investment documented.
*Develop, communicate and deliver business improvements in line with objectives and the business development plans.
*Support cross functional departments in ensuring business objectives are met.
*Actively promote the 'Company Values' and company policies and procedures in all areas of work.
*Improve engineering practices to in line with best practice within the industry.
*Keep up to date with innovations and make recommendations to improve site facilities, equipment and practices.
*Responsible for engineering budgets and spend, reporting functional performance of the engineering department.
*Promote and improve H&S and environmental practices within the engineering function. Develop the H&S of the site with other department leaders.
*Develop documentation and process to ensure that equipment is fit for purpose. Train out new processes to the department and monitor usage. Keep records.
*Work with other sites and teams to promote best practice and key learning's.
Apply a standard approach methodology for project management throughout the project period including:
●Support the generation of Project cases for approval, to include Capex submission.
●Manage minor projects in conjunction with the Engineering Coordinators Managing delivery on time and to budget.
●Always take into account the environmental impact of projects or actions.
●Look to use best practice to reduce the carbon footprint of the businesses.
●Ensure legal compliance when moving/removing hazardous waste.
●Work with the Health/Safety & Environmental manager and seek advice when required.
●Seek external support as required and agreed with HSE Manager.
●Develop a plan to manage and improve engineering environmental performance.
●Develop relationships with suppliers to improve H&S and reduce the environmental impact within the engineering team.
●Support Production & Engineering adherence to the Quality and food safety system in conjunction with the Quality Manger and Quality Team.
●Liaise with the Quality Team on Quality Assurances issues.
●To work with Factory Quality Managers and Group Technical Manager to ensure full compliance with all statutory requirements.
●To support the development of a quality culture with employees that leads to continuous improvement of product quality
