Our client in the Northen Home Counties are searching for an Import and Export expert reporting into the Supply Chain Division. The role will support all functions in providing advice and support to ensure the correct processes
are in place for effective and efficient movement of trade, whilst minimising Tariffs


The ideal candidate will be need to have experience in the key areas below:
• Manage procedures to support the effective cross border movement of goods, regularly auditing the implementation of these processes
• Develop IFS to efficiently and accurately support the procedure for customs procedures
• Understand and implement policies to minimise tariff impact or administration to support wider business
• Review accuracy of Tariffs paid by the company or third parties
• Manage all third party relationships for processing of HMRC and trade compliance information
• Keep up to date on changes in legislation relevant to trade movements and update accordingly
• Report internally and externally on compliance of trade scheme
• Seek out opportunities to minimise cost to company of trade compliance
• Ensure correct processes and procedures are in place for post Brexit, for import and exports cross border movements
• Train, support and audit Customer Services, Procurement, Finance and Purchasing at sites on trade compliance documentation
• Understanding and implement and report on schemes to minimise tariff impact
• Manage third party relationships for processing of HRMC, trade information and representation rights
• Oversee the Customs Declarations made by the Freight Forwarders and deal with Border Control issues
• Use analytical capabilities and find innovative way to drive down cost
• Advise and support implementation of new storage regimes in US, China and other regions post Brexit
• Manage resolution of trade border issues to minimise delays and costs
• Liaise with Accounts Payable Department to ensure accurate and timely payment of invoices.
• Assist in any part of the business as and when required

Personal Profile
• In-depth knowledge of import and export procedures
• Demonstrate experience within cross border trade movements
• Experience of managing all aspects of trade documentation and schemes
• Exposure and understanding of trade regulations
• Understanding and experience of dealing with HRMC
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise a busy workload, meet deadlines and work calmly under pressure
• Excellent attention to detail
• Good literacy, numeracy and high degree of computer literacy.
• Ability to develop strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Ability to contribute to and coordinate ad-hoc projects
