Development Technologist – interim (6 months)

The Company

A highly regarded chilled manufacturing company that supplying an expansive range of innovative and on-trend products to a broad retail customer base. With a mantra to continually improve and bring much-loved products to shelves nationwide, they are now looking for a proactive Development Technologist to help with the transition of products to a new site.

The Role

Reporting to the Development Controller, your role will be to ensure the smooth transfer of products from a sister site, managing the product pipeline and working with internal teams to ensure successful product launches.

You will strive to guarantee efficiency at every stage by working closely with all NPD teams, reviewing recipes, packaging and specifications to confirm all products are in line with customer expectations.

You will organise and conduct panels, review specification of new products and analyse raw material changes. You will then coordinate the collection of benchmark products for development work, panels and customer requests. You will frequently liaise with the purchasing department to source raw materials where needed and arrange samples from approved suppliers.

You will work closely with Development Chefs to ensure that recipes for transfer lines are matched and meet customer requirements. Furthermore you will support the NPD chefs with sending recipes to finance and ensure they are approved internally before progressing to handover.

You will complete feasibility documentation, organise and run site meetings to make certain that site teams are familiar with the transfer lines and customer expectations. Will also take pride in guaranteeing product quality to continue the company’s reputation for high quality products that meet customer standards again and again.

An integral part of your role will be to complete all handover documentation required for transfer of recipe from kitchen to Process teams once approved by internal team and customer. You will also liaise across multiple sites to align development work within the specified timelines.

The Candidate

Suit a Food industry professional who ideally has similar experience within a chilled complex food manufacturing role with an understanding of major multiple customers.

You will have proven experience of managing the NPD pipeline and ensuring successful product launches. Excellent time management skills, a confident methodical approach to working as well a keen eye for detail, and an ability to work calmly to tight deadlines.
