Retail Customer Quality Manager

With an impressive and ever expanding product portfolio, this company supply major retailers, food service and OOH customers alike. To ensure they keep the customer at the heart of all they do, they are now seeking a proactive and commercially savvy Retail Customer Quality Manager to join the team.

The Role

Reporting into the Sales Director this role will see you cultivate strong and thriving retail customer relationships, ensuring all technical needs are met in full and to the highest degree. You will build and lead the strategy of key accounts, agreeing key targets and KPIs. You will operate across multiple manufacturing sites to ensure projects are communicated effectively to the technical and commercial teams in order to deliver technical excellence.

You will collaborate cross-functionally to lead and drive a technical perspective on all NPD from concept through to launch. With your technical expertise you will lead by example, seeking new ways to champion quality. You will also review systems and procedures, identifying where improvements can be made. You will collaborate with Technical Managers to find solutions with reducing complaints, reaching targets and aligning budgets.

This role is very customer focused with regular communications to keep your key customers updated on any product and quality related issues, helping to drive continuous improvement plans.  You will manage all Technical Customer visits to site which you will see as on opportunity to nurture your collaborative relationships and drive business growth, as well as successful partnerships.

The Person

This role would suit a customer focused Quality or Technical Manager with experience of working with major retailers who really understands all the facets of managing the quality agenda for new and existing products.  Experience of working across multiple manufacturing sites would be beneficial but not essential.

Ideally you will be educated to a degree level in Food science or related subject and will have good experience of food safety and quality systems as well as an understanding of the major retailer’s quality standards.

You will thrive in a customer centric role where you are at ease communicating with a wide variety of people and have the technical knowledge and passion to influence change.  You will be motivated by finding technical solutions in order to aid your customers and the wider business. Being quality focused, commercially astute and a natural at building relationships is a must for this role.

Please note this role is based at the companies West Sussex site 5 days a week and will require travel to other sites when needed.
