The job

The purpose of the QA Manager is to ensure that all procedures are correctly implemented inline within the company quality management systems, including the managing and monitoring of food safety systems.

Job responsibilities:

  • Supporting and co-leading third-party and customer audits.
  • Maintaining the QMS System and Quality Policies.
  • Management of QA Team and Technical Administrator
  • Management and review of internal audits including GMP, Glass/Plastic, Hygiene etc.
  • Work closely with the Production Team to ensure awareness of GMP is strong and standards remain high.
  • Support the supplier approval process including conducting supplier visits and audits when required.
  • Manage complaint handling including investigations, identifying root causes and actions required
  • Monitoring of laboratory results and sign off, investigating and reporting those out of specification.

Your experience

Ideally educated to a degree level in a food science, food technology or food safety related subject, you will possess a good quality assurance/technical track record within food manufacturing.

You will have a sound understanding of relevant UK & EU Food Legislation, guidelines, and retail policies & codes of practice. Knowledge of ingredients, nutrition & factory process methods and a working knowledge of continuous improvement principles within a quality management system.

To succeed in the role, you will be proactive, efficient, and organised, always seeking improvements and driving quality standards. Additional qualifications including HACCP, Food Safety, Internal Auditor etc. are all highly desirable.

The QA Manager job is based in Oxfordshire and is paying £28,000 - £32,000 according to previous experience – perhaps slightly higher for the perfect candidate.

The working hours are 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
