There are few things that seem so simple on paper and so complicated in reality, especially in a fast-paced food production environment. Even more so with a business that has gone from 1 customer to many in the space of the last 12 months (and of course they have not been any old 12 months).

So it might seem odd to actively seek more change. But that is exactly what this business is looking to do by creating this new role. They have seen excellent commercial wins recently through embracing change and are now looking to replicate this in their supply chain.

As it is a new role in the business you will have significant opportunity to strategically review the supply chain function and actively make improvements within an established food manufacturing company who are not risk averse and are looking at a period of improvement.

Change is actively being sought. So, if you've ever felt the frustrations of knowing you could improve a planning process then now is your chance to make your mark as everything is being looked at and questioned - "how can we make this better?".

What are they looking for? Due to the complexity of operation you will need to have worked in a food manufacturing environment and be able to demonstrate a track record of improvement in these environments. All aspects of operational supply chain will be under your remit so a broad based supply chain knowledge along with people management skills will be important. And of course a natural desire to improve.
