Job Details

Our client based in Devon are searching for a Production and Maintenance Manager to enhance the fantastic results achieved and work with the agreed objectives to ensure the whole team are contributing towards their business’ targets.

Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will be need to have experience in the key areas below:
• Ensure materials, staff, machinery & lines are set up according to the production plan
• Thorough understanding of Site QMS, recording all data
• Support the development and refinement of site Quality Management Systems and Operating Procedures
• Development of performance (KPI) standards for site
• Control of site expenditure within agreed budget
• Minimising waste with both materials and time in the production process
• Review of staff performance and update/maintain staff training
• Set and agree staff objectives in line with business targets
• Ensure hygiene and general house-keeping standards are maintained
• Production line QA tests & checks (in conjunction with QA) along with completion of accurate production and other site records
• Review of Health and Safety procedures in the production operation
• Have good working knowledge of how to operate all site machinery
• Implement Machinery/Line Training of staff
• Ensure all machinery and lines are maintained to schedule for efficient, safe and hygienic operation as per documented procedures
• Working knowledge of the operation and maintenance of boiler and steam generation
• Maintenance and repair where possible of all site machinery according to Maintenance Plan or when required
• Manage Third Party Contractors, Engineers & Suppliers where required

Personal Profile
• Experience in managing an autonomous food production operation
• Experience of managing teams of people to meet corporate objectives
• Be driven by the requirement for continual improvement and be able to prioritise actions
• Experience of managing a GFSI BRC Accredited Operation
• Knowledge and experience of implementing change and maintaining a safe working environment (H&S accountability)
• General engineering skills with a can-do attitude
• Have good working knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Excel reporting)
• Great work ethic
