The job
The purpose of the Maintenance Engineer is to ensure that all onsite food manufacturing machinery and equipment runs safely, smoothly, and reliably plus provide both a proactive and reactive maintenance service, working on both mechanical and electrical systems.
Key duties:
- Maintain all site mechanical/electrical equipment in relation to machinery, buildings, support services and utilities to required standards.
- Proactive machine maintenance in accordance with the PPM schedule to plant, machinery, and equipment to prevent unplanned downtime.
- Proactively identify areas of improvement, liaise with the engineering team to implement those improvements where possible.
- Liaising with all internal departments to ensure any potential issues/factors affecting the business are communicated in a timely manner and escalated appropriately.
Skills and qualitications
- Experience within a similar role that covers both electrical and mechanical engineering responsibilities.
- Preferably completed a time-served maintenance engineering apprenticeship.
- A recognised qualification in Engineering preferable
- Experience working in food manufacturing or FMCG desirable
