The company

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to work for a family-owned and successful food ingredients manufacturer which supplies products to all sectors of the food industry with an enviable reputation for excellent quality and service.

The company has recently completed a major investment - building a state of the art, purpose-built facility located near to their existing site, therefore this is an exciting time to join the team.

The job

Reporting to the Managing Director, the business is looking for an experienced sales professional to manage a team of Territory Managers to maintain and develop existing and new business selling to food manufacturers and food wholesalers.

You will handle all day to day contact to ensure the smooth running of customer accounts, demand high standards of product quality and customer care, respond to requests for support from the customer, provide sales reports against targets, continually review product margins plus maintain an overall awareness of sales developments within the sector and from competitor portfolios.

Your experience

We are looking for a passionate and dedicated individual with strong sales/commercial experience selling into the food manufacturing or wholesale industry. Experience working within the bakery sector is essential, most preferably ingredients such as flour.

You will have a good track record of developing sales and managing accounts, be well organised plus able to take a planned approach and deliver a high level of customer service. A full UK driving licence is essential.

The General Sales Manager job is a nationwide role, mainly focusing on the Southern UK territory. The company office is situated in North London/Home Counties; therefore it would be convenient for you to be located within this region.

The working hours are Monday to Friday.

The role and is paying £45,000 - £50,000 plus car allowance and pension.
