Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update the QMS system to capture all changes and improvements required by technical opportunities from continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Work closely with the Retailer Technical Manager to ensure the audit and QMS system remains up to date and compliant to the requirements of customers and certification bodies.
  • Support the site HACCP teams by maintaining the documented HACCP plans and instigating leading multifunctional reviews.
  • To collate all information relating to Food Standards Agency, Customer Alerts and the wider industry and ensure they are communicated to the appropriate team members for review and that the QMS is updated to reflect all changes / risks identified.
  • Support the site Food Safety Culture scheme ensuring training and supportive documentation is created and results from the review process are captured, trended and feedback into the Food Safety Culture strategy.
  • Continually review and challenge the current ways of working for the technical team to ensure only efficient, value added documenting is conducted and that the technical systems are fully utilized in line with its capabilities.
  • Analyse the data from all workstreams within the technical function to ensure clear, concise reporting is available for the Quality Managers, Technical and NPD Manager and wider site to fully understand the progression and performance against the site KPIs. Identify and lead continuous improvement projects to ensure the site continually improves performance against the agreed KPIs.

Qualifications and experience required

  •  Degree level qualification in a Food or Science related subject or minimum 3 years’ experience in a Technical / Quality Assurance food manufacturing role.
  • Food Safety Level 3 a distinct advantage
  • HACCP Level 3 a distinct advantage
  • Lead Auditor Trained a distinct advantage
  • 3 years experience within the Food Manufacturing Industry within Technical / Quality Assurance function. First Hand experience of driving, managing and delivering projects to demanding deadlines is a distinct advantage.
  • First hand experience of team management.
  • Data analyst experience would be seen as a distinct advantage
  • Knowledge and experience of retailer manufacturing standards.
  • Good level of project management skill.
