Job purpose

To supervise the Quality Assurance team ensuring food safety and quality technical standards are achieved. To support and provide guidance to operation teams to ensure Best Practice standards are being achieved and the site is audit ready

Duties and responsibilities

• Embed process control and technical standards within the production and technical functions with a view to drive continuous improvement across the site.
• Be responsible for the control of non-conforming product procedure and product release ensuring only safe food which match the quality expectations of the business is released into the market place.
• Embed the Food Safety Culture initiatives across the site to empower the operations and quality teams with knowledge and understanding of the part they play in the production of safe food.
• Continually review the food safety management system in line with the Technical Systems Officer to ensure it is maintained, relevant and updated when ever improvements are identified.
• Supervise the QA team ensuring all audits and tasks are completed as per schedule, and provide support for completion where required 
• Carry out compliance audits across the site (out with factory hours as required) and maintaining the Internal Audit Schedule.
• Cover QA roles during periods of absence.

Skills and Qualifications

• A food related qualification is advantageous
• HACCP to level 3
• Internal Auditing experience
• Previous supervisory experience is an advantage
• A positive can do attitude
• Computer literate in Oracle, Word and Excel
