Burtons Biscuits has had a home in Edinburgh for 60 years, we employee amazing & talented people at this site, 393 to be precise and together they bake 7.5 million great tasting biscuits a day… wow.
But… without our talented engineering team this wouldn’t be possible, and due to an internal promotion, we now have an amazing opportunity for you to lead this team. As part of our Site Leadership team, you will be accountable for our entire Engineering department, encompassing Projects, Site services, the Reliability team and of course our shift engineers.
Burtons Biscuits are in a sustained period of growth and our Edinburgh site is an exciting place to be with our latest multi-million-pound investment bringing back Jammie Dodgers for the first time in 40 years, and a busy pipeline of NPD and further investment planned over the coming months and years.
As our next Site Engineering Manager, you will have responsibility for the delivery of the Burtons engineering strategy within our Edinburgh bakery, this incudes coaching and developing a team that will deliver the engineering KPI’s and support the delivery of the overall site KPI’s and longer-term objectives. You will be a key member of the site leadership team with involvement in defining site vision and strategy.

In order to ensure we can continue to make fantastic biscuits, and to help us on this amazing journey, we are proud to announce that in 2019 we completed the acquisition of a premium sweet and savoury biscuit manufacturer Thomas Fudge’s, also in 2019 we acquired Scottish bakers Paterson Arran. This increases our baking capabilities across a number of new sweet and savoury categories.
As a result, we now have 6 bakery sites across the UK, located in Blackpool, Livingston, Edinburgh, Dorset, Isle of Arran and Llantarnam, with our head office in St Albans. In total we employ circa 2,000 people around across our locations.
