TECHNICAL ACCOUNT MANAGER – Dairy

Our client is a highly successful and growing UK division of a European chilled foods group, supplying a wide range of European origin branded and own-label products into Grocery Retail, Wholesale and Foodservice trade channels. Our client has ambitious UK growth plans and they are now looking to expand their customer technical team further with the appointment of a Technical Account Manager to act as the main point of contact for specific customer accounts, with responsibility for all technical related activities.
Your remit will be wide and varied and will include building strong professional relationships with your customers and providing a full technical service which satisfies customer needs.
You will lead audits with suppliers, logistic service providers and BRC agents and brokers. You will improve and maintain the supplier food safety assurance system and deliver continuous improvement. You will monitor industry changes with horizon scanning and ensure compliance with EU food safety directives. Other responsibilities will include providing risk assessment and crisis management support when required, aiding in BRC accreditation for agents and brokers and deputising for the Technical Controller in their absence.
The ideal candidate will possess sound technical knowledge of the UK dairy market, gained either in a recognised food manufacturing company or food trading business. You may currently be a junior Technical Account Manager looking for the next step up in your career, or alternatively, already operate at a senior technical level but are seeking a new challenge. Either way, we would like to hear from you.
To be successful you will need to demonstrate a detailed knowledge of providing technical services and a successful track record of building strong customer relationships. The job requires a highly motivated, self-starter with a clear communication style, a professional and confident approach and a positive ‘can do’ attitude. You are naturally highly organised, calm under pressure and possess a keen attention to detail. You can demonstrate a high level of commitment, are a positive team player and lead by example, having the energy and enthusiasm to resolve issues.
Degree educated, you possess a strong understanding of BRC and retailer standards and a working knowledge of HACCP, VACCP & TACCP.
The position is office based with the flexibility to work from home one day a week post Covid. The role will require travel throughout Europe to suppliers.
