Our client is a major supplier and grower of fresh food and vegetables to the major UK multiples is now looking to strengthen its team with the appointment of an Marketing/NPD Manager.

The role is essentially to create a pipeline of new products which will meet customers and consumers expectations and needs. It will involve liaising with the seed houses to ensure they you are first to market with new products and innovation. It will then involve managing these trials to ensure that they deliver new products that will meet emerging consumer needs. You will also be tasked with developing new forms of packaging, so as to properly and fully market these new varieties and products.

This role will probably appeal to you if you have an agronomical or technical background or if you are a marketer with an avid interest in fresh food. Either way you are someone who is passionate about food and looking to further their career in an NPD role.

There will be involvement at a retail level, developing relationships with the relevant stakeholders within the retailers and ensuring that the briefs are interpreted correctly and communicated throughout the business. Alongside this, keeping aware of the competitors new product launches and communicating these throughout the business will be crucial.

The role is therefore fast and very varied and you will need to possess a 'hands on' attitude, as you could well be presenting your ideas to a customer one minute and then undertaking a competitive shop review the next.
