Regulatory Affairs Manager

Job purpose

You will provide leadership and guidance to the business on regulatory matters for food, feed and personal care activity in the EU, UK and other non-European markets.

You will provide a regulatory framework and guidance to the quality teams to ensure compliance of the Quality and Food Safety Management system against all relevant regulations.

The role will cover a wide range of issues including Allergens, REACH, Novel food, Packaging Food Contact Materials, Food Law and labelling, Feed laws and labelling, Residues and Contaminants, Natural and Botanical ingredients and more.

Main duties

  • Monitor scientific, technical and regulatory developments, including the study and analysis of relevant UK Government, EU, Codex Alimentarius and others as they relate to the business activities;
  • Coordinate all communications with local & EU authorities with regards to licenses, authorisations, 3rd country representation, as well as any challenges from those bodies.
  • Manage day to day regulatory questions from customers and colleagues working in Technical, Quality, Purchasing or Marketing in relation to compliance to various markets and products applications. Example of the review provided: Novel food status, Natural status, claims, labelling, etc.
  • Make decisions with regards to products and materials compliance status for the business and guide senior management team as a result.
