Factory Technical Manager

Our client, an innovative Food Manufacturer based in Hampshire, is looking for a Factory Technical Manager. The successful candidate will embrace the Company’s values of safety, quality, service and cost, and work as part of the team to guide and promote the highest food safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities for the role will include:

• Implementing, maintaining and reviewing document controlled QMS system to BRC standards and customer codes of practice
• Managing site visits, ensuring pest control and hygiene standards are maintained throughout visits, internal audits, BRC audits, and other 3rd party audits
• Responsibility for the management and running of the HACCP and Allergen management systems including Food Safety system risk assessment
• Managing supplier approval systems
• Ensuring microbiological, water quality and other necessary food safety testing is conducted to meet customer requirements
• Managing taste panel and customer benchmarking sessions and communicating results to the relevant departments
• Managing traceability, mass balance systems, process validations and calibrations
• Assisting with complaints, micro reduction projects and customer complaints investigations
• Facilitating close liaison between technical, manufacturing, and supply chain to minimise supply and quality issues, managing the QA function and continuous improvement culture throughout the business

Essential / Desirable skills include:

• Experience in a Technical Management role within Food Manufacturing
• Strong understanding of BRC, customer audits, food legislation, customer codes of practice
• HACCP L3 Essential and ideally Food Hygiene qualification
• Strong Manager, able to lead and develop a site Technical team
• Competent computer skills
• Degree in food related discipline or equivalent experience

The working hours for this role are Monday to Friday 8.30am – 5pm, with flexibility to meet the needs of the business and the salary is £Competitive
