Job purpose

To lead and continuously improve the maintenance engineering function. To mentor and guide the Engineering team 

Duties and responsibilities

  • Direct line management for a team consisting of time served engineers.
  • Responsible for the development of skills and competencies to meet future factory challenges.
  • Ensure effective and timely completion of individual Development plans so that the team are clear on their objectives and deliverables.
  • Ensure that shift engineering resource availability and back-up is always in place.
  • Deliver the planned maintenance programme for all process plant and utilities.
  •  Risk assessments and continuous monitoring and improvement implemented wh
  • Maintain a safe and hygienic working environment across all engineering facilities 
  • Manage and control all maintenance costs within agreed budgets.

 

The person

  • Engineering qualification to HNC or a mixture of trade qualifications and experience
  • A minimum of 5 years experience
  • Strong people management & resource planning and allocaton Advanced project managemls - Desirable
  • Strong people management & resource planning and allocation skills
  • Advanced project management skills - Desirable
  • High degree of computer literacy (including AutoCAD - Desirable)
  • Well organised
  • Strong communicator
