The company

This role is working for an award-winning importer, processer, and supplier of speciality food products. This leading food industry business is dedicated to sourcing and bringing new and innovative products to market, predominantly through retail and foodservice avenues.

The job

The purpose of your role is to complete QA tasks in all internal auditing systems including GMP, GHP, and hygiene audits.

You will ensure customer COP and third-party accreditation compliance plus carry out continual assessment and improvement of the food manufacturing site standards.

You will also coordinate pest control site visits and corrective action close-outs plus deputise for the QA Manager as required.

Key duties:

• Actively involved in ensuring the site is always audit ready and assist with external, 3rd party, customer and BRC audits.
• Work closely with the quality and production functions to drive improvement and compliance.
• Training of technical procedures within the business.
• Effectively communicate quality issues or changes to standards, across all departments.
• Drive improvements to GMP standards and process adherence through GMP audits.
• Carry out daily hygiene inspection.
• Collect samples for micro, taste panel and retained samples.
• Set up texture meter and carry out raw material and finished product texture checks.

Your experience

Ideally educated to a degree level in a food science, food technology or food safety related discipline, you will possess previous quality assurance/technical experience within a food manufacturing environment – ideally high-care, chilled foods.

You will be qualified to Level 2 or above in Food Safety & Hygiene and HACCP plus be competent with computer systems and software (Word & Excel). You will also have an understanding of GMP and H&S issues within a food manufacturing environment.

Good time management skills are also required together with a methodical, logical approach and good attention to detail.

The QA/Technical Coordinator job is based in the Oxfordshire region and is paying £25,000.

The hours will vary and will be 42.5 hours per week. Flexibility will be required to start at 6 am and work occasional weekends. The ability to work overtime at short notice would be preferred.
