The company

This role is working for an extremely successful, BRC AA Graded food manufacturer. The business which is dedicated to supplying high quality products and combined with exceptional service, enable their food manufacturing customers to innovate and increase productivity without compromising on quality.

The job

As NPD Technologist, you will develop new products and technologies that will enable the business to meet its key customer requirements and to support targeted growth.

You will carry out bespoke NPD for key customers and proactive NPD to fit with key market trends and support the business’ reputation of innovation.

Other key duties:

  • Production trials to support NPD launches.
  • Process improvements that can improve efficiency and/or provide cost savings.
  • Direct contact with key industrial and other defined target accounts 
  • NPD administration that includes, recipe and specification (creation and sign off) and ensuring that NPD pathway documentation is kept up to date.

Your experience

To be considered for the NPD Technologist job, you will be educated to a degree level in a food science, food technology or bakery technology discipline and possess previous food product development experience.

You will have knowledge of NPD process, from concept to product launch together with understanding of functional/technical ingredients and how to optimise their use in food.

This is a hands-on role; therefore you will be happy working in both a development and production environment, have a good awareness of food trends plus excellent understanding of nutrition and labelling.

The NPD Technologist job is based in the North West region and is paying £23,500 - £27,000 according to individual skills and previous experience.

The working hours are Monday to Thursday (8 am – 4.30 pm) and Fridays (7.30 am – 3 pm).
