Own the innovation within the Company by working closely with Category to develop new blue-sky concepts and maintain core catalogue growth through product maintenance.
Display awareness of current and emerging trends and communicate these to team and customers as appropriate.
Prepare kitchen samples for internal and external reviews as necessary, ensuring that these are delivered in an accurate and timely fashion, to the correct specification and brief, as set down by the NPD Manager.
Engage with suppliers and with Procurement to support supplier innovation days.
Support presentations and reviews (internal & external), and lead as required, presenting in a professional manner and demonstrating your food and process knowledge and expertise.
Support in the preparation of presentation packs as required.
Engage with external customer chefs and product developers to drive strong relationships and utilise these relationships to drive briefs
Display a good commercial understanding when developing products using the Soho Sandwich Company costing matrix.
Challenge current products and processes in a constructive manner and recommend improvements and upgrades as appropriate.
Arrange the delivery and collection of raw materials from the factory - recording usage and wastage.
Evaluate new Raw Materials as necessary, following the set procedures, and providing accurate data (i.e. yields and weight) for recipes to be supplied to the NPD team for costings.
Work closely with Operational, Technical and NPD colleagues to ensure that products are deliverable commercially, operationally and are technically sound.
Host and support customers on site with refreshments and shopping for samples, ingredients and visitor’s lunches, once safe to do so.
Research food trends and food to go market to participate in product design, benchmarking & food safaris & present to the business.
Input recipes into the appropriate documentation and software system to create a complete costing, nutritional information, product code & final product description. You will be required to liaise with other departments and suppliers to obtain this information in a timely manner.
Show awareness of and comply with Health and Safety legislation, Company regulations and Statutory Hygiene Legislation.
Provide support and cover as appropriate in the absence of members of the wider team.
3 years’ experience working within food manufacturing with short life chilled products
Lives within 1 hour commute of N18
C&G 706 1/2 or similar
Intermediate food hygiene certificate
